Preface of the book Family Devotions: Why the book Family Devotions was written

When our children were young, I so wanted a devotion book of this type. In the evenings I tried to have regular devotions. I would look up scriptures that applied to a certain topic and then have each of our girls look up a scripture passage. This book is written so that you will not need that preparation time. Family Devotions gives you the tools to consistently teach your children the truths of God’s Word. It targets children eight to twelve years old, but can apply to younger and older children as well. By using this book your children will, in a year’s time, become familiar with several Biblical characters; they will become familiar with many of the books of the Bible; and they will understand how the Bible applies to everyday life.

God gives us his Word as the source of his revealed truth, and He commands that we teach our children his ways. My hope is that this book will help you in that endeavor.

There is some repetition of scripture and ideas in this book. Consider it intentional.

This book is written for Evangelical Christians. I am working on a Catholic version, entitled Family Prayer.
